Dr. Brady is board-certified in general surgery. She performs the Lap-Band procedure to treat morbid obesity and frequently serves as the second surgeon on gastric bypass cases. She has a strong interest in endocrine surgery, including thyroid and parathyroid procedures, which led her to complete an Endocrine Surgery Fellowship in Germany. Dr. Brady also focuses on advanced laparoscopic procedures and on the surgical treatment of cancer, including cancer of the breast, head and neck, and colon. During her residency, she conducted research in several significant areas, including the use of sentinel lymph node biopsy for the detection and staging of breast cancer.
Education and Professional Associations
After graduating with honors from the University of Texas-Houston Medical School, Dr. Brady completed her General Surgery Residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Brady then practiced with Capital Surgeons Group and Southwest Bariatric Surgeons for a while before embarking on her Fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at Marburg University Medical Center in Germany. She earned her B.A. with honors in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Brady is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Texas Medical Association, a member of the Travis County Medical Society, and a member of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).
Biography
An Austin native, Dr. Brady enjoys taking advantage of our area's outdoor activities by waterskiing, swimming, and running. She is also an avid traveler.
